Nan Loop · Bo Kluea Salt Mines → Doi Phukha200 km

A scenic loop through the Doi Phukha National Park, visiting the 800-year-old Bo Kluea ground-salt operation. Twisty mountain tarmac all day, no luggage.

03DAY

Nan → Phu Langka → Phu Chi Fa → Chiang Khong280 km

One of the most scenic days in Southeast Asian touring — Mekong-edge cliff roads to the dramatic Phu Chi Fa viewpoint, ending in Chiang Khong on the Laos border.

04DAY

Chiang Khong → Golden Triangle → Chiang Rai200 km

The pinnacle of the trip — ride to Sop Ruak where the Mekong meets the Ruak, the official Thailand-Laos-Myanmar tri-border arch. Photos, House of Opium museum, sunset in Chiang Rai.

05DAY

Chiang Rai → White Temple → Coffee Estate → Fang160 km

Visit Wat Rong Khun (the White Temple) and a Doi Chang coffee plantation before crossing into the Doi Mae Salong tea hills toward Fang.

Fang → Chiang Dao Cave → Chiang Mai160 km

A final stretch past Chiang Dao Cave temple, descending through farmland and rice paddies back to Chiang Mai for the closing dinner.

Climb out of Chiang Mai over Doi Suthep into the cooler hills, lunch at the famous Coffee in Love viewpoint, ride into Pai for the night.

02DAY

Pai → Mae Hong Son180 km

The most twisty day of the trip — 762 named curves on Route 1095 alone. Tham Lod cave detour, Pang Mapha hot springs, into Mae Hong Son.

03DAY

Mae Hong Son → Mae Sariang225 km

Less-travelled section of the loop with Long Neck village visits, mountaintop temples, and breathtaking valley views into Mae Sariang.

04DAY

Mae Sariang → Doi Inthanon → Chiang Mai200 km

Climb to the highest point in Thailand (2,565 m) at Doi Inthanon for the King and Queen pagodas, descend through cherry-blossom forest back to Chiang Mai.

Back on tarmac for one of the world’s great motorcycle roads. Tham Lod cave, the 762 curves on Route 1095, into Mae Hong Son.

Mae Hong Son → Mae Sariang225 km

Continue the loop with Long Neck village visits and the climb past Doi Mae Suek into Mae Sariang.

05DAY

Mae Sariang → Doi Inthanon → Chiang Mai197 km

Final day climbs Thailand’s highest peak at Doi Inthanon, descending through ever-changing ecosystems back to Chiang Mai.
